STOP PRESS! ANOTHER EXHIBITION

07th February 2012
My blogs seem to be like London buses. Just got a letter today from Hull City Council advising that two out of the three pictures I submitted for their annual Open Exhibition have been accepted. Deep joy!

The exhibition is at Ferens Art Gallery, Victoria Square, Hull HU1 3RA and runs from Saturday 11th February until Sunday 15th April. It is a major event in the artists calendar and attracts a great display of paintings, sculpture and photography, i.e. well worth a visit.

My two images are both taken in the East Riding, taking advantage of Hockney-mania! but are black and white rather than Hockney-colour. They can be viewed here and here.

Talking of David Hockney, we (my wife Terry and I) have secured tickets for his blockbuster exhibition at the Royal Academy in London and will be going next month. Can't wait to see all those huge paintings of this hidden gem of countryside. Even if the exhibition and all its recent publicity causes a stampede of curious visitors to East Yorkshire, and the Wolds in particular, I think there will still be enough room to snap away undisturbed.

Mind how you go in the fog and snow.
